The Gagarin-class was a class of Starfleet cruiser-escort vessels which were built to combat Dominion Jem'Hadar vessels. As a result, Gagarin-class vessels were fast and were heavily armed and shielded. Two Gagarin-class vessels were the USS Garneau and the USS Tucker. (ST novel: Captain's Glory)
