The Green Grosbeak was a species of grosbeak native to Atlantis. It was closely related to several species from Terranova. The male had an apple green back, warm cinnamon belly and yellow eye streaks. When viewed in isolation, its markings seemed gaudy but blended well with the green foliage and rusty brown bark of the native redwood on which it roosted. John James Audubon shot one to paint and then preserve during his 1843 excursion to Atlantis. The bird blended in so well he would have ridden by it without noticing if the bird had not been singing so loudly in an attempt to attract a mate.
