During his time on the run from the Death Eaters, Horace Slughorn stayed in this house in the village of Budleigh Babberton. The Muggle occupants of the house were on holiday in the Canary Islands during his stay in their home, so Slughorn simply used a Freezing Charm on the burglar alarm and ensured that the neighbours did not notice him moving the piano into the house. It was here that Albus Dumbledore, accompanied by Harry Potter, managed to persuade Horace to return to Hogwarts in order to restore his previous role of Potions master. Prior to the visit, Slughorn trashed the place to make it look like Death Eaters attacked, to prevent Dumbledore from recruiting him, though this failed as he missed the Dark Mark and the two wizards repaired the house afterwards.
