The Hom Mounds were a ceremonial Nociv burial site located in the hills of Kadril. The Nocivs believed by buried their dead in the Hom Mounds, the dead were able to return to the planet from which all life stemmed. During the interment the deceased Nociv was placed on a mound, allowing the body to be absorbed into the ground.
