In 536 BCE, when the conflict between the asari and the lirrax threatened to spread beyond the lirrax homeworld of Zarr, the asari closed several mass relays in order to prevent the lirrax from invading the smaller republics. As a result, the mass relay leading to Imeria was closed, and the asari living there were cut off from their sisters for over 740 years.
