Sir Albert Gray (10 October 1850 - 27 February 1928) was a colonial administrator, lawyer and politician. Born in Perth, Scotland, Gray entered the Ceylon Civil Service in 1871. After four years he returned to Britain, and was called to the bar at the Inner Temple in 1879. From 1896-1902 he was counsel to the Chairman of Committees in the House of Lords. He "took silk" as a King's Counsel in 1905. In 1916 he was made a Commander of the Bath and in 1919 a Knight Commander of the Bath. He served as Mayor of Chelsea in 1924-25. He died at his Chelsea home, aged 78. Details of the house here [1].
