If a page is marked for speedy deletion, an admin can delete the page quickly. When nominating a page for speedy deletion (or, in the case of admins, when deleting a nominated article), first check the page's history to ensure that the page wasn't simply vandalised. If that is the case, just revert the vandalism. You could consider turning problematic pages into redirects or creating a valid article for the page instead of deleting it.
