In 2285, the Nixon led an Imperial task force sent to find the USS Excelsior. The Nixon discovered the Excelsior, but the entire task force was disabled by the nullifying projector set up by the Excelsior. The HMS Bounty and a Romulan bird-of-prey fired on and heavily damaged the Nixon.
