Link is riding through the Lost Woods on his horse, Epona. A Skull Kid, with two fairies called Tatl and Tael ambush Link, knocking him out. Skull Kid plays with the Ocarina of Time before Link wakes up. Skull Kid then steals Epona and rides off with Tael and Tatl. After landing in Skull Kid's lair, he uses the power of the Majora's Mask to turn Link into a Deku Scrub. Tatl becomes seperated from Skull Kid and Tael. Tatl then becomes Link's fairy companion.
