Kevin Whately (born 6th February 1951 in Newcastle upon Tyne) appeared on Coronation Street as Kevin, a lorry driver at Jim's Cafe in February 1981. Kevin was made famous by starring as Neville Hope in ITV's hit comedy series Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. He has also has also appeared in The Dig, Inspector Morse (and played the title role in its sequel Lewis) and The Sweeney. He is married to actress Madelaine Newton who also appeared on the programme as Mary McKenna in 1997.
