What was known about the ship, as of 17 ABY, was that it was estimated to cost several times more than its ship classification typically would. Primary advocates against the Emblazoned Hope referred to the ship as being "over designed," too expensive, and having no practical use. However, proponents continueally defended the project, citing it as an innovation in starship technology.
