Putney was a street in 19th century San Francisco. Hotel Brian, No. 5 Fire House, and J. Mees Rodent Control were establishments on this street. There was, as well, a drug broker, a saloon, a barber shop, and a carpenter. In August 1893, after time traveling from the 24th century, Lieutenant Commander Data of the USS Enterprise-D found himself on this street. He later won a game of poker and booked a room at Hotel Brian. (TNG: "Time's Arrow" )
