Vesuvius Matheson lives a dual life as a legitimate businessman and the head of Maar Sul's oldest crime syndicate, the Matheson Crime Family. His money funded the Proninists in Jardine's troubles in 1016 AE, and he briefly controlled the city through his brother Galeras Matheson until the Grand Alliance liberated the city. Vesuvius also had his brother Koryaksky Matheson assassinated after the latter failed to end the Maar Sul Gang War in a way that would've profited the Family in a way Vesuvius had wanted.
