The Exploration Society was created to help new arrivals to Dereth by giving them both valuable information and a purpose: to explore this new world. The group is based out of Eastham, though there are no officals or buildings there to signify it. Sir Candeth Martine was a member of the Society until the then leader betrayed him and traded him to the virindi. Martine would later take his revenge on the Society by killing its leader. He also destroyed six of the Starter Outposts where new arrivals to Dereth would appear and the training halls were found. When the Halataen Isles opened up the Exploration Society took over Elysa's training halls and established one in Sanamar as a neutal party to train new arrivals.
