One month after Emergence Day, Iredell was a member of the 4th Ephyra Light Infantry and based at the Kosoly Barracks in central Tyrus. He had issues with Pvt. Damon Baird, who refused to wear a combat helmet, and often put him on a charge for that. When the unit was preparing to fight the Locust at Kinnerlake, Iredell inspected the Gears waiting to board their King Ravens. He saw Baird not wearing a helmet, and ordered him to put it on. Over the next year, Iredell continued to put Baird on charges for not wearing a helmet.
