He first appears in the beginning of the movie playing a magical song called "Sanji no Yosei" ("Three O'Clock Fairy") on his flute. He uses the tune to hypnotize children and cause them to follow him away from their homes. Queen Badiane enlists the services of Poupelin and three other fairies (Orangeat, Banane, and Perle) to help her steal children away. She tells them that children who are brought to her will never grow old, and will not be harmed.
