X'Tingian was the language of the X'Ting, the insectoid native species of the planet Ord Cestus. It replaced a previous language, Old X'Tingian. X'Tingian used buzzes and click to convey information in its "oral" form. To create a "written" X'Tingian, scents were to be stored and then smelled when wanting to "read". This was the heritage of Old X'Tingian, which used scents to convey information "orally". ChikatLik was an X'Tingian word meaning "the center" and Tolmeatek meant "untravelable."
