Sabapathypillai Illangaratnam was a former Sri Lankacricketer and stalwart of Moratuwa and Bloomfield Cricket club and Bank of Ceylon prior to country obtaining the test status. He later coached the Bloomfield cricket team Illangaratnam passed away on July 16, 2007 at the age of 59 and was still in service at the Bank of Ceylon, counting over 45 years of service at the time of his death.
