The Visored were Hollowfied because of an attack that started on the Ninth Division. Kensei and and Mashiro were attacked by Kaname Tōsen and were infected by him. He further attacked the others when they showed up to investigate. Shinji was attacked by Hiyori who had been infected with her injuries from Kensei.
