The UNSC Naval Intelligence Office of Special Investigation (NIOSI), pronounced "knee-oh-si", is an investigatory subcommittee of the UNSC Department of Strategic Intelligence, UNSC Office of Naval Intelligence charged with the investigation of special circumstances that represent special security risks to the United Nations Space Command (UNSC). While it was immediately disbanded in the wake of the devastating Beyond Veil's Azure Crisis, NIOSI was soon reactivated during renewed, forbidden UNSC interests in Forerunner and paranormal circumstances during the Galactic Era.
