Wedmore v Axbridge took place on 4th May 2009 at Wedmore Cricket Ground. As ever, a youthful Wedmore side proved to be stiff opposition at a cold and cloudy Blackford Road. Harris (50no) and Wall (41) saw the hosts to 216, which, as Axbridge knew well, was a big ask for a bunch of veterans in early season on the Wedmore track. Great fielding meant that the stirling efforts of in-form Mark Jelbert (27) and awakening giant Paul Davies (22) were insufficient to put Axbridge in serious contention.
