Sakana Mura was a tiny village of fishermen's huts and a lone sentry outpost beside Aka Mizu-umi. The men who fished the lake did not live in the coastal village, but in villages from the surrounding area. The peasants were invariably superstitious and anxious about fishing upon the lake. The sentry outpost was the result of the paranoia in the early days of the fledging Wasp Clan about a possible waterborne Lion attack through the Red Lake which resident shugenja could notify Kyuden Ashinagabachi within minutes. Since the Tsuruchino longer fear the naval invasion a lone sentry was stationed.
