Dave was a bloke who Beth Tinker met online. When they met up for a date, Dave didn't match his profile picture from the internet dating site much to Beth's horror. When Dave turned out to be a pig looking for sex, Beth poured a pint over him and walked out. An angry Dave followed her but was confronted by Kirk Sutherland, who had escorted Beth to the date. Dave punched Kirk when he called him an idiot but Beth and Kirk managed to get away from him. The incident with Dave drew Beth and Kirk closer together.
