Kort Grezz aka Magno Lad, like Cosmic Boy, hails from the planet Braal. Kort has the ability of all Braalians to manipulate magnetism. He was a former champion of magnoball, the planet's favourite sport, and came to Earth to apply for membership of the Legion of Super-Heroes. Kort was not accepted. He then joined with other rejected Legion applicants to form their own team known as the Legion of Super-Rejects. The team thought they could show they were superior to the Legionnaires whose powers matched their own and were preventing them from joining the team.
