Jesse Whitman and his fianceé Rebecca Hunt are planning their future together. But Jesse loses his job and needs money desperately. Jesse is advised to go to a loan shark for money and is recommended to go to Aria Shaughnessy. Jesse collects $2500 from Aria and is told to pay her back plus another $1000 within six months. Jesse fails to gather enough money and Aria begins sending threatening letters to the house. Eventually the couple go on the run when Aria makes a visit to the house. But Aria is targeting them and closing in fast.
