A neurographic scan was a detailed neural study of a humanoid. A Level 4 neurographic scan was far more thorough than a normal neurographic scan. It was used to find even slight abnormalities in the nervous system, as well as causes for hallucinations or psychogenic reactions. It could also be used to locate indications of temporal displacement by analyzing tryptamine residue in the cerebral cortex. (TNG: "All Good Things..." )
