American Spy is a boy and spy for the American Government and is sent to Albania to spy on the Communists. He is found and arrested and the Americans agree to swap him for an Albanian spy in America. They were familiar with each other, as evidenced by his greeting to Adil when disembarking and explicitly referring to him by his alias of "Sparrow."
