Yelena Vladimirovna Kondakova (March 30, 1957 - April 25, 1994) was a Soviet cosmonaut, who was killed when the Soyuz TM-20 crash landed on the Moon. She was awarded the Hero of the Soviet Union Medal posthumously. Kondakovna was one of the most famous female cosmonauts, and a spokesperson of the Soviet Women's Movement. She was married to fellow cosmonaut, Valery Ryumin.
