Eolburg or older Alcisbaurg (Rhov."Deer-Fortress") was one of the few permanent settlements of the Eothraim, who followed the migrations of their herds through the plains of Rhovanion. The town was a simple settlement of thatch and turf houses surrounded by a stout earthen rampart.
