Biomass is a Tier 3 ore which functions as a better fuel source than coal. Biomass can be used in a Reactor Vat to produce either Plastic Pellets or High Energy Composite Fuel. Biomass has a higher hardness value than other Ores and cannot be mined with SuperDig(T1). Ore Extractors must be fitted with a Cutting head before they will operate. Biomass veins are most commonly found at depths equivalent to the Toxic Caverns or approx -350m and -550m. As such, it is recommended you research the Toxic Particle Filter suit upgrade first. Biomass is not typically found in large veins.
