Like its name suggests, the Lake was infested with snakes, a fair amount of them being poisonous. Most visitors to Dagobah recommend staying away from the lake, as sometimes snakes do crawl out to defend their territory. Even Yoda recommends staying away from the lake, as the snakes are even powerful enough to defeat him. Even though this lake is extremely dangerous, lots of galaxy tourists still come here despite all their warnings. This is due to the fact of all the interesting sightings and some very interesting species of snakes. However about 40% of the visitors don't get away alive.
