James Hunt is a midfielder who spent three years at Rovers from 2004 until 2007. He was brought to Rovers on a free transfer by manager Ian Atkins, who had previously managed him at both Northampton Town and Oxford United. James was club captain at Rovers until a disagreement arose with new manager Paul Trollope over a decision to relegate him to the bench from the starting 11 for a league game against Mansfield Town late in 2006. The tension between the two escalated, resulting in James being transfer listed, and he never played for the club again.
