Michael Arnett was a Lieutenant who was assigned to the Pentagon as an intelligence officer who met his future wife, Dana Arnett. At some point, Dana began drugging her husband, resulting in Arnett becoming depressed. Arnett later climbed to the rooftop and was seen by a couple who alerted the local police who in turn called NCIS. The NCIS Major Case Response Team's leader, Leroy Jethro Gibbs attempted to reason with Arnett but just as Arnett was about to get to Gibbs, a shot rang out, hitting him while also causing him to fall to his death as Gibbs helplessly looked on.
