The Megascope is a special, super-powerful telescope built by Speck and the apatosaurus astronomers at Outpost Q. While the other scientists didn't know it, Speck also had help from Major Terrorkon and a group of Battalasks, who lived in the Star Charts Library and added their technology to Speck's creation in exchange for his using it to find Fangal and the sabre-toothed cats. Later, an apologetic Speck and Jodril reconfigured the machine to reflect sound waves into space to defeat the aliens, although the Megascope was destroyed in the process. Speck promised to rebuild it himself and used it to find a new home for Fangal, Wettus, and their families.
