USS Abercrombie (DE-343) was a John C. Butler-class destroyer escort in the service of the United States Navy, named after Ensign William Abercrombie. She was laid down on 8 November 1943 at Orange, Texas by the Consolidated Steel Corporation, launched on 14 January 1944, sponsored by Mrs. C. W. Abercrombie, mother of the late Ensign Abercrombie, and commissioned on 1 May 1944 with Lt. Cmdr. Bernard H. Katschinski in command.
