Exit 36S of the Cross Island Parkway is the left exit at the fork in the Cross Island. It turns onto Interstate 678 south towards w:JFK Airport. Like its twin companion exit, Exit 36N, the ramp is a diamond shape. Exit 36S takes you to places like Shea Stadium. Before the Cross Island Parkway was aligned with the Belt Parkway, the exits were aligned with the Southern State Parkway. Due to the SSP alignment, this exit was known as Exit 1S.
