Carlana 630 begins at a three-way intersection with State Route 911 in the city of Stevan. The route follows part of the old Hetterbauhn Trail, traveling northeast through rural Hetterbauhn and Hillcrest counties, only passing through the community of Gotan Hill on its way toward Hillcrest and its east end at State Route 28.
