Storm Island is a location that the Smurfs traveled to on the sea in the cartoon show episode "Painter And Poet". Painter and Poet both traveled to his island in order to be free from the Smurfs who were unappreciative of their works. However, this also attracted Gargamel's attention as he was out in the sea doing some fishing, so he also traveled to the island in order to capture the Smurfs. Papa Smurf and several of his little Smurfs traveled to the island to rescue Painter and Poet, but soon found themselves captives of Gargamel as he had wrecked their boat. Both Painter and Poet used their creative talents to help their fellow Smurfs escape from the evil wizard, and by finding a hollowed-out log the Smurfs soon escaped the island, though not without pulling the drain plug in Gargamel's
