Victoria Peterson is a Durham resident who served as co-chair of Mike Nifong's "citizens committee". Peterson has been noted for unusual behavior, including advocating that 610 North Buchanan Boulevard be burned down, and interjecting herself into a live television broadcast to challenge a reporter's recounting of the reason Peterson had been ejected from Nifong's hearing before the Bar. On July 19, 2007, Peterson announced herself as a candidate for city council.
