The airplane contained in this set was one of the first two LEGO System passenger planes released. Its basic design was prototypical for most of the following larger LEGO planes, introducing the characteristic T-tail stabilizer arrangement at the aft and the boxy nose and cockpit assembly which remained unchanged in almost all of the sets from the 1980s and 1990s. Also the method of accessing the interior by flipping open the roof and a small section of the sidewall was already introduced in this set. 6368 Jet Airliner (1985) 6396 International Jetport (1990) 3181 Passenger Plane (2010)
