Nation Song Contest 132 was hosted by Yaponesia for the first time after finishing third in NSC 131. Hypjø earned their fourth victory in the competition's history this edition, with Purity Ring's 'Begin Again'. In celebration of NSC's 9th anniversary, the theme of the edition was "Quick Replay", a reflection on the nine year legacy of the contest. Players were invited to submit their fondest memories of the contest, and the semifinal shows were designed to be a timeline of memories as featured in postcards before each entry (which were presented in the Live Listenings for the edition).
