M3-D2 was a droid inserted into Jabba's Palace by the Whiphid known as Lady Valarian in an effort to pursuade Sy Snootles to act as a spy against Jabba the Hutt. M3-D2 also acted as a contact for many of Lady Valarian's other spies.
