A universal bonus improves all three of a creature's saving throws. It can be found on items such as a Cloak of Resistance. The spell Protection from Spells also grants a +8 universal bonus, although only against spells. Universal bonuses stack with everything, including other universal bonuses, but cap out at +20. Item properties which improve only a single saving throw, such as the bonus from Boots of Reflexes, are not universal bonuses.
