The 1957-01 was a Convertible Series event held at Jacksonville Speedway on November 11, 1956. Despite the '56 date, it was the '57 season opener. Joe Weatherly started the season off in the right way, holding off Glen Wood for the victory. Eventual season champ Bob Welborn showed seventh in his season opener.
