The 31st Olympic Games begin August 5, 2016, in Rio de Janeiro, where the 555 members of Team USA will compete for the international glory — and domestic hero status — that accompany Olympic success. This year, the U.S. is sending a record 292 women to the Olympics, the most any country has ever sent. Among those 292 are, to Western Pennsylvanians, some familiar faces: Christa Harmotto Dietzen, Meghan Klingenberg, Amanda Polk and Leah Smith. Hailing from Hopewell Township, Richland Township and Oakland, the women will be bringing a little black and gold — alongside their red, white and blue — to Rio.
