The Ash Eaters are a species who inhabit the Milky Way galaxy who evolved on an unknown planet. This species was once extremely technologically advanced and ruled the Milky Way galaxy long before the Alterans arrived from their own galaxy. At some point in their history after transcending their original forms they became non-corporeal entities capable of feeding on and entirely consuming all forms of matter and energy such as organic or non-organic matter, planets, stars and even black holes.
