Gul Pettar was a Cardassian military officer who commanded the warship Gevrok in the early 2370s. In 2374, Pettar commanded the Cardassian forces that participated in the Battle of Tyra against Federation Alliance vessels. Pettar led his fleet to victory, after personally destroying the USS North Star, the Federation flagship. At the completion of the battle it was discovered that over 98 vessels and 24,000 Starfleet personnel had been killed. Pettar was killed during the First Battle of Chin'toka.
