A colony of redcaps inhabited Old Larkin Pond in Larkin Mills, Illinois until the Summer of 2007. The colony included roughly half-a-dozen redcaps. Alexandra Quick faced the colony and fended them off with a makeshift wand one evening in the Summer of '07 while trying to spot a naiad at the Pond. Quick later discovered that the redcaps had been placed at the Pond by Ben Journey in a roundabout attempt to kill her.
