The Wakime is a skill developed by those of the Genji Tribe since ages past. The founder of this skill was said to exist in the time following Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki's departure, but preceded the events of the Warring States Era. He was an ascetic who, through meditation and a harmonious coexistence with nature, eventually awoke his eyes to a "the lights hidden within the shadows", according to the Genji Tribe's scriptures. He later dubbed these lights Gen, after his newfound knowledge into their origin.
