Governor of Metastrato Prime was a common variant of the title given to the elected leader of Metastrato Prime. The full title was Governor of the Independent Colony of Metastrato Prime and the Shattermoon Colonies. The head of the executive branch of the Metastraten government, the governor was the head of state and head of government for Metastrato Prime. Commander-in-chief of the Metastraten Home Defense Forces, the Governor was elected for a six-year term by a plurality of the popular vote. The office of Governor replaced the Chairman of the Metastraten Provisional Council as the chief executive of the state.
